India, spread across 3287263 km2 with the 2018 population estimate of 1352642280 or more than 1.35 billion, is a glorious country having a strong form of the system of governance known as democracy and with a 2021 GDP estimate of 10.207 trillion U.S. Dollars which ranks third in the entire world. New Delhi is the capital of India which also has the parliament of the country where the elected representatives discuss various issues which become the matters of talks in the country, and several bills are passed and amended in the parliament so that they may become laws and parts of the constitution.

Due to the growing technology and talent among the people, various countries, including the western countries, want to do business with India because the growth has been so extensive in this country that relation with other countries in terms of business is always maintained. But on the other hand, it is also the fact that there’s a huge impact of coronavirus on the economy, the data may change very sharply because India has also had to face a huge loss in economy and GDP growth, as have other countries. How long the loss in the economy continues, only time and the conditions arising out of coronavirus can tell in the right way.

Unity in diversity of India

“Unity in diversity” of India has been emphasized a lot because people of many religions live here peacefully and harmoniously in spite of several issues which keep arising because of the debates and arguments on region and religion. The percentage of people following a particular religion differs.

According to the census of 2011, in India, 79.8% people are Hindus, 14.2% people are Muslims, 2.3% people are Christians, 1.7% people are Sikhs, 0. 7% people are Buddhists, 0.4% people are Jains, there are people who have no affiliation to any religion, and they consist of 0.3% while there are other people in other categories and they consist of 0.65%.

All such people have got their own practices in terms of faith and belief and worshipping of God, but there are many commonalities such as language, education, and background among all these people of several religions as well.

Festival celebration in India

Since India is the country of those people who belong to several religions and casts, it is very natural that the festival celebration in India takes place throughout the year because a festival of one religion or the other keeps falling in almost every month of the year. Many festivals of different religions fall during some months simultaneously, so these months are called the months of festivals. Whether it is Eid or Diwali or Baisakhi or Christmas, people celebrate the festival with great jubilation and brotherhood.

Cultural aspects of India

An essay on India is not complete unless and until we talk about the cultures of India and as far as cultural aspects of India are concerned, people have different cultures in different states of India. As of now, when I’m writing this piece of article for you all, India has 28 states and 8 union territories, and I’m saying this because there’s a chance of an increase or decrease in the number of states and union territories in the coming time according to the situation which the government may think about in coming time.

So all 28 states and 8 union territories have their own cultures and cultural aspects, whether it is about their cuisine or whether it is about their clothing or the system of education. Some states may have similarities among themselves, but many things can be found in cultural aspects, which will make every state and every union territory different from other states and union territories. It is the fact that in sports and recreation, it is cricket which is loved the most by all the Indians in spite of the fact that India has hockey as a national game.

Languages in India

As far as the languages of India are concerned, as such, there is no any recognized national language of India, but Hindi is spoken the most in India, and Hindi and English are the official languages of India, and it is also true that almost all the states have their own regional and native languages. There are 447 native languages in India.

Through this essay on India, I would like to say that there are two major language families in India which are spoken the most. First is Indo-Aryan, which is spoken by almost 74% of the population in India, and there is another major language family known as Dravidian, which is spoken by almost 24% of the population in India.

Democracy in India

Democracy prevails in India as elections are held in all the states and union territories to elect the government to work for the people and as far as the branches of the government are concerned, then there are three branches named executive, legislature and judiciary which have got their own responsibilities to do good for the sake of the country.

Those who are 18 years old or older than that have the right to vote and elect a government in India, whether elections are being held at the state level or central level, or even very local level. I hope that an essay on India has helped you gain lots of information about the country but don’t forget to read the final point to get additional information.
